HARIDWAR/ DEHRADUN: Amid great fanfare, BJP candidates filed their nomination for the Tehri, Haridwar, Almora and Pauri Lok Sabha constituencies on Thursday.
Former Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Singh Pokhariyal Nishank filed his nomination papers for the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. Nishankâs cavalcade reached Roshanabad, where he filed his nomination papers before holding a roadshow.
At Pauri Garhwal, Major General (retd )BC Khanduri filed his nomination papers as a BJP candidate. Among his supporters were Satpal Maharaj and Matbar Singh Kandari, who had recently joined the BJP.
The BJP contestant from Tehri, Mala Rajalakshmi Shah, was accompanied by party leaders Trivender Singh Rawat and Harvansh Kapoor as she filed her papers.
In Almora, Ajay Tamta filed his nomination papers.
